Trivia: Wealthiest Author

by Elisa

Did You Know?

According to the 2006 Guinness Book of World Records, J. K. Rowling is the wealthiest author in the world, with a personal net worth of $1 Billion. Apparently, from June 2003 to June 2004 she earned an estimated $147 million, which was the “highest annual earnings by a children’s author.”
(Wow!)

Maybe I should send her a letter asking to borrow a fiver?!

Anyway, that’s nothing, I earn double that from my blog ;)

  2. Elisa Says:

So…I should be asking you for a fiver? ;)

Did you also know that she wrote Harry Potter while riding the bus, was on welfare with two children while her friends constantly hounded her to get a “real” job…$1 billion later…

    She is my hero.

    Best wishes.

[...] Note: By the way, author of Harry Potter, J.K. Rowlings, was on welfare, with two children while writing the incomparable series and remained focused on her dream. Her friends were telling her to get a “real job”. She wouldn’t listen. She is now the richest author is history according to this site: http://www.thebookstacks.com/trivia-wealthiest-author/ She had “less”, believed in her dreams and now, ironically, she has “more” (to put it lightly). Yep. J. K. Rowling is the picture of what you can achieve when you set your mind to it.
