Well, you can’t beat The Library Dragon by Carmen Agra Deedy. Reminds me of a certain co-worker.

I’m so out of the loop with children’s books these days…mine being all grown up. Does it count that I love certain graphic novels (just a couple of them…)?

  4. Country Dawn Says:

My kids LOVE Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus!

  5. This Girl Remembers Says:

What a great list! I love picture books too. Patricia Polacco’s books are almost all favorites of mine. Thank You Mr. Falker makes me cry every time I read it.

  6. Sandra Schwab Says:

Great list! I love picture books! One of my current favourites is Jackie French’s DIARY OF A WOMBAT. It’s an adorable book. :)

  7. Nicholas Says:

I don’t know any of those but some of the titles are very intriguing.

  8. Susan Helene Gottfried Says:

We LOVE the pigeon over here. Even the Tour Manager and I pick up pigeon books when the kids bring them home.

As for Even Mars Needs Mom, I read it in the bookstore awhile back and almost bought it for my mom. What a great book.

  9. Elisa Says:

Rims - I hope that you find one you’ll like.

Chrisbk - I don’t think I’ve read that one. Thanks for the tip.

damozel - I don’t think that graphic novels count in this category. They have their own level of cool. Why not give one of my picture books a try?

Country Dawn - that would be because your kids have excellent taste.

  10. Elisa Says:

This Girl Remembers - I’ve enjoyed Babushka Baba Yaga. I’ll have to check out some more of her stuff. Thanks!

Sandra - I *love* Diary of a Wombat. Excellent choice.

Nicholas - be sure to check one out.

Susan - I reviewed the book, then passed it on to my Mum to read. She liked it. Also, everyone should experience the pigeon.
