The Tuesday List From The Black Lagoon

Welcome to this week’sTuesday List. It’s not quite as creepy as the title might suggest. Honestly. You can come out from behind the sofa now.

To begin with, this week, I would like to remind you all that The Book Stacks is up for a Blogger’s Choice Award, so if you would be so kind as to pop along and vote for me, I’d be much obliged. The next Cover to Cover book is The Eyre Affair by Jasper Fforde, so please join me for a discussion of this book on June 22, 2007 (that’s a week from Friday.) If you have suggestions for books that you would like to see discussed in a future Cover to Cover, feel free to comment anytime with your titles. My second A Book By Any Other Name challenge has begun this week. The goal is a bit higher this time around. If you wish to participate, just take a look at Monday’s post. Well, that’s enough site news for now.

Have you been reading anything interesting lately? Comment and let me know. And now, my current list:

The Eyre Affair by Jasper Fforde - This is the book for the next Cover to Cover. It’s quite interesting so far.

Stephen Hawking’s A Brief History of Time: A Reader’s Companion edited by Stephen Hawking - I’m making slow progress, but that’s better than no progress.

Doctor Who: The Inside Story by Gary Russell - I love informational books about TV Shows.

I hope that I have some time to read this week…

Yay, you took my advice on reading Jasper Fforde’s Eyre Affair! I’ll be reading it again so I can take part in the discussion in a couple of weeks. Good choice :)

  2. Sally Says:

I’ve just finished reading Tracy Chevalier’s gamut of novels that interlace (usually art) history with fiction. “Girl with a Pearl Earring,” “Falling Angels,” “The Virgin Blue,” and “The Lady and the Unicorn.” Now I just need to suck it up and spend the money on her new one “Burning Bright.” (The other 4 I managed to find at used book stores and the library for anywhere from $4 to a quarter!)

  3. Elisa Says:

Good to see that you’ren going to participate, Dave…as it’s your book we’re doing. :D

Sally, Tracy Chevalier’s books are good, then?

  4. Jennifer Springer Says:

Okay, so I know this going to sound pretty sad and pathetic, but I am SO in love with a book my ten year old brother reccommended to me called Number the Stars. It’s really fabulous…just so everyone knows… ;)
