The Tuesday List

Well, I have a new car and a new dryer. On the reading front, did I get very far on my books? No…but I did start some new ones…without finishing the others first. Here’s the list for this week:
Sandry’s Book by Tamora Pierce - I’m listening to this one on CD in my new car. (My old car only had a cassette player.)
The Gardener by Sarah Stewart - A picture book about a young gardener in the 1930s who has to go live with her uncle in the city for a while.
Cocktail Party Cheat Sheets brought to you by mental_floss - I’ve only gotten through 4 more pages. It’s really well written though.
Doctor Who: I Am a Dalek by Gareth Roberts - Still only halfway done with this one.
A Brief History of Time by Stephen Hawking - This is the tenth anniversary edition. I’m working my way through chapter one.
There you go. As always, if you have a book to recommend to me, just comment here. You still have two days left to enter into the 451 Press Comment Contest, and a book recommendation definitely counts.

If you have the time, I’d like to know what you think of “The Velveteen Principles: A Guide to Becoming Real” by Toni Raiten-D’Antonio

A brief history of time is a fascinating read, just don’t expect to finish (and understand fully) any time soon.
An added bonus is that you feel really intellectual while reading it on the train

DaveP - It’s my husband’s book. He has degress in Theoretical Math and Physics. I had to start somewhere… Mind you, I feel smarter already.
