I didn’t know they were filming The Dark is Rising! I also didn’t know about The Spiderwick Chronicles. Wow…

  2. Elisa Says:

Yep. The Dark is Rising…with Christopher Eccleston…:)

You See why Wednesdays are a good time to pop by my blog?

  3. Dianne Says:

I didn’t know about the release date for Prince Caspian. This gives me another film to look forward to seeing. Also, I hadn’t heard a thing about a possible film of A Spell for Chameleon. That would have some great special effects.

Nancy Drew - now, that is just too cool. I loved reading the books when I was a girl (about a hundred years ago or so)

    thanks

It’s worth reading Monster Blood Tattoo ahead of seeing the film. It’s an Australian young adult/children’s fantasy with an amazingly realised world. It won the Aurealis award for best Young Adult novel in 2006. I was one of the judges and I treasure my copy muchly - it is one of the best-designed books I’ve seen in years - I keep picking up my copy and lugging it round, just because it’s so nice to handle.

  8. Elisa Says:

Barbara, I loved the books too. The movie seems to be an “updated” Nancy, but with many classic elements.

    Gillian,
Thanks! Now I have to add that to my list. My list is getting long…

  9. Ella Says:

Anybody know if the Nancy Drew books are still around? I would greatly appreciate it.

  10. Elisa Says:

    Oh heavens yes.
The originals and all sorts of new stuff too.
