Blood and Chocolate: The Film

Yes, it’s true. Yet another book is coming to the big screen. At this rate who know what they might decide to film? It looks like I might actually attend the theater regularly this year. This time around it’s Annette Curtis Klause’s Blood and Chocolate that is being translated to film. I wonder if they will do The Silver Kiss next? It would make sense to do Werewolves and then Vampires, right? (Sigh. Okay, just me then.) Blood and Chocolate is the story of a young female werewolf who falls in love with a human. As you can imagine, this does not work out as well as she would like. It doesn’t help that her pack is in something of a crisis at the moment. Will she reveal herself to an outsider? Agnes Buckner (”Linda” from 24) plays Vivian, the werewolf, and her beloved Aiden is played by Hugh Dancy from Ella Enchanted. Now, I may have a weakness for werewolves, but I’m thinking that I’ll have someone else see this film first to let me know how scary it is. As you know, I am not too big on scary films. As usual I am left wondering how far they strayed from the book this time around. I suppose that only time will tell.

We saw the preview the other day. It is from the same producers of Underworld. It looks like they are going to take a bit more care with this one.
