A Book By Any Other Name…Summer

by Elisa

Welcome to this week’s A Book By Any Other Name. The game works like this: Each week I will choose a word and offer a few titles that I’ve come up with containing that word in the title. Then it’s your turn to come up with book titles containing the same word, without duplication. (I would also like the author, but that is just so I can find the book if I want to read it.) Okay then? Let’s Go!

Today’s Word is: Summer

I Say:
Chronicles of Faerie: The Summer King by O.R. Melling
Summer of My German Soldier by Bette Greene
Dragons of Summer Flame by Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman
Summer of the Monkeys by Wilson Rawls
Prodigal Summer by Barbara Kingsolver

How about that old favorite, A Midsummer Night’s Dream by William Shakespeare. For something a little more modern and a little scary there is always, I Know What You Did Last Summer by Lois Duncan. This is a very fun game.

  2. Elisa Says:

Oooo! Great choices, Mom. And that brings us to 7 titles. Glad that you like the game.

  3. Debbie Says:

The Second Summer of the Sisterhood by Ann Brashares
The Summer of Cotton Candy by D.J. Reynolds (To be released May 2008)

  4. Elisa Says:

Yea Debbie! That brings us to 9 titles. (Hey…do I get a reviewer’s copy of that book?)
