A Book By Any Other Name…Moon

by Elisa

Welcome to week three! As before, the rules are as follows: Each week I will choose a word and offer a few titles that I’ve come up with containing that word in the title, then you all should give me the book titles you have come up with containing that word. I would also like the author, but that is just so I can find the book if I want to read it. Okay then? Let’s Go!

Today’s Word is: Moon

Goodnight Moon by Margaret Wise Brown
The Hunter’s Moon by O. R. Melling

  6. Elisa Says:

    Seven. Good call, JM!

  7. OR Melling Says:

The Moon King by Siobhán Parkinson. (And thanks for naming me!)

  8. Lizzie Says:

Blue Moon by Laurell K Hamilton. Gotta love them werewolves.

  9. Dan Says:

“Owl Moon”, Caldecott winning book by Jane Yolen. “Bringing down the moon”, by Jonathan Emmett. I have a book published in 1906 by Jules Verne called, “From the Earth to the Moon”. I also have a science book for kids, published in 1963, called “The How and Why Wonder Book of the Moon”. The last sentences in it are, “You can expect that by the time you are an adult, people will be making regular lunar voyages. Who knows? Maybe one day you, yourself, may make a trip to the moon!”

  10. Elisa Says:

Wow! A sudden rush of titles.
Let’s see… that makes 13 at this point.
That’s the best total so far. Thanks for stopping by and participating all. (And, Ms. Melling, I am all set to purchase The Summer King with a gift certificate I just received. Please keep up the good work!)
Dan, I may have to settle for the moon, as it looks like the first manned Mars mission isn’t until 2030. Two points to you for 4 titles.

  11. Frances Says:

    How about…
Walk When the Moon is Full

  12. Elisa Says:

Thanks Frances, now we’re up to 14 titles.
