A Book By Any Other Name…Earth

by JM

Dr.who_earthshock_1.jpgHello, hello, and welcome to another Monday. Yes, you probably don’t actually look forward to Monday, but that’s why I’m here to offer you a Monday game to get your mind off everything.

Last week we didn’t make it to the total number of titles needed to make me forfeit, so the same challenge is up today! Yes, I know a poem of mine isn’t the best of forfeits, but it does let me know how many people are playing for when I plan other forfeits. So join in and see I’m any good at poetry. ;)

How it works: Each week I will choose a word and offer a few titles that I’ve come up with containing that word in the title. Then it’s your turn to come up with book titles containing the same word, without duplication (yes, that includes my titles.) I would also like the author, but that is just so I can find the book if I want to read it.

About this current challenge: I challenge all of you to reach 25 titles containing the weekly word by this time Friday (I use that term loosely this week because Elisa and I are in quite different time zones), (with no more than 5 titles commented per person and not including my titles in the total.)

My forfeit? I think for this first challenge, I’ll offer up one of my favourite poems that I’ve written: “Coffee Shop Poet Wannabe? If you can get to goal number of titles, I’ll post up the poem on Saturday. If you don’t reach the goal, we’ll try again next week. If you reach the goal, I’ll have a brand new challenge for you next Monday along with a new forfeit (I’ll think of something really good).

(If you’re feeling pouty about the five titles per person limit, why not get a friend to come and comment as well? The more, the merrier.)

This week’s word: Earth

I say…
The Good Earth by Pearl S. Buck
Doctor Who and the Dalek Invasion of Earth by Terrance Dicks
Doctor Who and the Unearthly Child by Terrance Dicks
Doctor Who – Earthshock by Ian Marter
Turlough and the Earthlink Dilemma by Tony Attwood
